I'm getting notices about mini boxes. I have 3 TVs that will be affected. Here are my questions.
1. We the most basic TV service. The TV's without the Cox box get channels not available on the box. Will the "mini" boxes now limit channels, too?
2. How does channel changing and volume control work on the mini boxes? Will we have to use the huge Cox remote for both channel changing and volume, or need to use the TV remote for volume?
3. FIOS claimed no service without a box, too; but when you connect your digital TV directly it works.
4. Can we cancel our agreement early due to this change? It seems to be a huge game changer.
Signed,
Your skeptical and less loyal customer.

the boxes only get convert the analog signal to digital so what ever analog channels you pay for will be digital and encrypted after installing the mini box.

I understand there are questions about the Mini Box and account concerns. You may email our team with questions about the account details at cox.help@cox.com and include a link to this Forums.
Here is a link with more information about going All Digital:
https://www.cox.com/residential/tv/go-all-digital.html
Our Website has information about the Mini Box here:

Remote Programming Codes for the Mini Box Remote RF 3220-R, and 2220:

We are one of the last Cable Companies to transition from analog to All Digital. This will increase the bandwidth. Depending on the account, some customers qualify for a discount to the Mini Box equipment for the first year. We will be able to discuss the account details over email if you wish.

If TVs connected directly to cable get more channels than a Cox set-top-box then Cox did not install the trap on your line and you are getting channels you are not paying for. Yes, you will loose them once the digital conversion is complete. You will only get the channels you pay for.
The remote that comes with the minibox is much smaller than the full remote like the 8820. It will change channels and control the on/off, volume and mute functions of your tv, as long as your tv is supported by the device.
I can't talk about FIOS, I don't have any experience with it as it's not available in my area.

The boxes do not "...convert the analog signal to digital." The boxes tune the 256QAM digital signal being transmitted, and convert it to HDMI a/v or RF (channel 3 or 4) analog NTSC.
