I hate the new system I can not record on my VCR any more and if I have to use a dvr I will check out all the competition and maybe change. The speed on a the internet is pathetic anyway You lied to me and there is nothing worse than a lier.
The lady said that I can continue to record on my vcr and I can not.

Why can't you record on your VCR? I assume it has an analog input and you can connect the minibox analog out to the VCR. I don't know what the CSR said to you but she was correct in that you can record. What you can't do is change channels with the VCR. You have to pre-select the channel using the minibox then set the record time on the VCR. Not ideal but it does work, somewhat, with older equipment.

Sure there is. It's a poor speller.

Sure you can. You just have to use a mini-box.
