The instructions show you how to set up the tv, but my question is if you have a desktop computer that also uses a hdmi cable and they used a splitter for the tv and the computer how do I set it up?

First, you are in the wrong forum. Should be posted in the TV forum since it doesn't have anything to do with Internet.
Second, how did you have it hooked up before? Did you have a advanced reciever before the mini box? Or were you using cable direct to the TV?
Also, how does your computer use a HDMI input? Do you mean your desktop monitor? Or do you have a video capture card? If so, which? It needs to be HDCP compatible. Using a HDMI splitter is tricky since getting the HDCP handshake to pass can be hit or miss depending on the model. Also, there are certian ToS issues when discussing recording shows onto the PC. IP Law comes into play when creating a digital copy of a leased video feed. I mention that for FYI but also to frame the purpose of HDCP encryption.

Everything you posted is correct, Teck, but I would guess the OP has a standard desktop computer with HDMI output. I don't know of any consumer grade computer that comes with an HDMI capture card, it would have to be an aftermarket addon.
joseph-carroll, assuming you don't have a capture card, you can't bring the HDMI output of the minibox into the computer. You can only use it for input to your monitor if it supports HDMI in.
