Low speed - only 1 day with cox 50 mbps service

Just had Cox Internet service installed yesterday - about 24 hrs ago.  While the technician was still here we tested the speed on my lap top and it was well above 50 mbps download...it was 67.

Less than 24 hours later, I couldn't get online, had to reboot my modem (brand new purchased yesterday from Cox Docsis 3.0 Router) and my speeds are way down.  Here's a screen shot of my last reading:

Any thoughts on how I can resolve this?  I've re run the test several times...it stays about the same...maybe spikes up to 25 - but I ordered the 50 service...which I am getting on my neighbor's cox wireless and I did get it yesterday...so don't think it's my lap top, and my router and modem are new

Reduce the width of the image to 550 pixels or less. It should show then.

It happened to me too. On 03/28, all evening and through the night I couldn't watch a single movie online. Download speed measured by speedtest.net was UP to 10 mbps while upload speed was 6 mbps.

Yesterday, 03/29 the download speed was 20 mbps all day.

This is unacceptable when paying for 50 mbps!! You Cox people are charging for services you do not provide. Hope you know what that is called!

I've been testing all weekend.  It's been really inconsistent - from the low 20s to this morning back up to 59 mpbs -- this is all thru wireless..

I still haven't checked how the speed is "wired" -- but I imagine that Monday is better because no one is trying to watch movies...and over the weekend it's much higher traffic.  At least that's what my "non-tech" brain sees as logical.

I will continue to monitor and track...and will try it wired the next time the download is really slow.

Lower than expected performance - new customer said:

Wireless speeds can be affected by a number of different things out of Cox's control:

Other wireless networks in the area, a microwave in your home, the distance between your wireless computer and the router, the walls between router and computer, wifi adapter on your laptop.

Wow - your tone is a little harsh and snarky.  I'm not being mean...I came here for info from people with the same issue.  You are not helpful at all.

I apologize for the snarky-ness and have removed it from my post, I really was just trying to help by educating you on something you may not have been aware of though
