Evidently giant COX does not make enough money off the subscribers who have few choices. Small, local stations get hit often across the country. I have lived in many places. This is not a new problem. Considering that my COX bundle costs three times the price of my heating bill, there won't be a choice about which to cancel. I'm thinking about going all-streaming.

Blaming this issue on the local channels is like blackmail, both to the local channels and to the subscribers. The message on the TV is: "This station is demanding a significant fee increase for this channel and has pulled it from Cox viewers." I answered the "rigged" survey on Cox, which conveniently mentioned that the local affiliate is demanding a 400% increase. While answering the survey, which was skewed toward Cox, I even answered that I'd pay up to an extra 50 cents a month to get the local ABC affiliate. It seemed from the survey that this issue is about how much local news is broadcast. Come on, Cox. You gouge the residential subscribers which leads me to believe you try to gouge the local affiliates. Get over your huge profits and give us back what we are paying for. I assume all Omaha area Cox subscribers will be reimbursed. Enough with the monopoly. Don't you realize streaming is here to stay and your service is a fading industry?

You would think a company as large as COX and makes as much as COX can resolve this issue. It is clear that the COO is only in this for the money and really does not have any concern with long term commitment to provide the best services at the best prices for existing and new customers. I would imagine that if this gets resolved the additional cost will be push down to the subscribers and we will all see a increase on our already huge bill.
Cox competivie pricing and services are no longer in the competition with other providers. Other provider bundles and level of services are growing rapidly and Cox is being left behind.

We have had Cox services for many years (in part because we had very limited cable options) and paid the exorbitant price because they offered the channels we wanted. Now they continue to take away channels - major channels such as NBC and we have determined it is time to see what else is out there.
I have "negotiated" with Cox at a business and government level and they are not reasonable in their negotiations or their contracts. I do not blame my local NBC station at all. Looks like it's time for the "big dog" to go away.
We have the bundle with cable, phone, and internet - looking for a new bundle if anyone has any suggestions.

We too will be looking at alternative bundles for our TV, Phone and Cable service...UVerse or streaming? My parents use ATT and have been very please, more so than their former provider Cox Cable.
Cox needs to PLAY NICE with the local stations or they will lose many customers!

So Cox gives a 2 week exstention while a single local market is asking for a 400% price increase. Then people get mad at Cox for not wanting to pay, but also get mad at Cox for price increase. Ofcourse you can't pay 50cents just for one channel, thats not how broadcasting economics, because there is no a la carte.

Does COX understand that Steaming is the Future\Now and when they cant even negotiate a local contract with the prices their customer pay is Crazy. I wouldn't be surprised when this gets resolved the additional cost will be push down to us the subscribers and we will all see a increase on our already outrageous bill.
I am now looking for another internet provider and once I have that I will be going to over the air and streaming.
I already have the Google Chrome Cast ($35) and Amazon Fire ($39) sticks in my house and they are great! with no monthly costs!
See you later COX you just lost yet another subscriber to GREED!

You can still watch all your ABC shows online or through any mobile device with the watch ABC app. You can also watch all your shows the next day on HULU which charges a small monthly fee for service like Netflix.
