Just upgraded to Premier

I just upgraded to Premier from Preferred but I'm not seeing the full speed. I know the speeds are not guaranteed but I was getting pretty close to 25/6 before. Now the max I'm seeing is around 36 down, 6-7 up. After looking around the forums it looks like other people have had similar problems. Can someone check my account and make sure it's set for DOCSIS 3, not 2? I have a Surfboard 6141 modem. Thanks for the help!

I'm having kinda the same problem.

I do speed test all day and i only hit close to 75mb (60mb) once after my self install then its 18mb-45mb since the work order closed out.

I have my own doc 3.0 and router  i tried talking to Tech support on the phone but they didnt seem sure about how my account should be coded out.

Hi swanky,

If you are getting 75 Mbps down on the account it sounds like you have the proper codes on the account but definitely worth checking.  I responded to another comment from you on another thread.  Email us the account information, send to cox.help@cox.com and we'll figure this out.  Thanks!

As a technician, I see this often.  A few factors that contribute to lower than advertised speeds is ingress/egress  (Noise entering a damaged line or bad fittings.  Signal balance, amps, splitters, barrels, and tap values (where they connect the line attached to your home.  I've been in brand new homes that struggled to get 25 MBPS on their Premier CHSI, and I've been in beat up shacks that they get 225MBPS on their Ultimate CHSI.  Best bet is to purchase the CSPP(Cox Service Protection Plan) and schedule a technician visit to survey the lines and equipment and have the proper repairs taken care of for you.

Something got fixed last night. My modem was rebooted and now I'm getting 55-60 Mbps download and 10+ up.
