Internet SLOOOOW - Throttled Download Speeds?

When I look from this end it appears your problems are likely more signal related and less modem related.  If you have any splitters you could bypass for testing purposes that may be helpful.  If all else fails I would suggest arranging for a technician to come out and troubleshoot further.

I've already bypassed the splitter I have going to the television. It's been straight to the wall for the last 3-4 weeks.

Tried speedtest.net with 2 different servers and still low on the d/l end...

Well I'm in zip 85310 and was also recently told by support that my modem was bad and that I needed a new one.  I purchased the new modem from cox at the suggestion of the online support person.  I am getting the EXACT same crappy speeds as the original poster.  2.5 down and 5.2 UP?  I don't have any splitters in my line as I am a Directv customer.  I do have your phone service as well.  It really sucks.  I also used to get decent speeds a few months ago.

Perhaps it is time I looked into DSL.  BTW I have had your service for like 10 years...

still bad speeds.. It seems my download speed has increased at times to around 3.9 down and roughly 5 up.... I definitely feel like a preferred customer with the preferred service.. lol. Disconnects have become more frequent... 7 in the last 4 hours... Good luck...
