Intermittent instability with wireless.

I've noticed as of late that transferring files from one system to another over the same connected network has a wide range of speed variance. At one moment it is less then a MBps then it will rocket to around 17 mbps then back down to around 3-4 mbps as a max still fluttering lower than a MBps and up to the 4 mbps. I've also noticed that even though I was given what was said to be the dual band router my network settings that I can access on the routers settings page does not seem to reflect this. It has gotten to the point that I'm unable to stream across the room where the router is contained and every device I try it with is targeting slow connection while I've subscribed to the Premier package. Help?

First I would suggest a program like inSSIDer or if you have a Android Phone, Wifi Analyzer, to see what the wireless congestion is like in your area. Try to change your channel so it doesn't overlap with someone elses.

Also, if you see alot of people in your area, you can turn on "No No-Acknowledgement". Its under Wifi Multipedica, see page of manual for more info.

Besides that I would also suggest trying to have the modem away from any possible interference, and have it be in the middle of the house, as much as possible.
