how to have my DVD player display on the TV
I just recently bought a Samsun flat screen TV and got for the first time TV cable service with cox. The guy who did the installation did not tell me how to use anything and now I am trying to watch a movie using my Sony DVD player and there is no way to make it work. He did hook-up the DVD to the TV using the HDMI cable I bought and I have been able, or so it seems, to program the right code for the Sony DVD player with the cox remote since when I use the cox remote the DVD turns on and off but after that there is no way to make the DVD movie appear on the TV screen. Can anyone help?

You might have to use the input select on your TV remote to switch input sources. It sounds like the cable box and dvd player are likely both connected using HDMI cables to different ports on the TV.

On most remotes it'll be labeled "input" and either switch inputs or display a menu on your screen where you can choose which input you wish to view.
