How do I STOP the "are you still watching TV? box from popping up?

I will be watching TV, and a box keeps popping up asking "are you still watching TV". If I don't press select, then it changes channels, to something I don't want to watch. Someone on here suggested to press the change channel up or down every hour or so. TO COMCAST: I DONT WANT TO PRESS ANY BUTTONS. IF MY TV IS ON, I AM EITHER WATCHING IT OR LISTENING TO IT! Please give me a solution that will make this go away completely! .

Don't watch any SDV channels for four hours continuously. [BTW, your TV being on or off is irrelevant. It's your cable box doing this deed. And what does Comcast have to do with this?]

As others have mentioned the channel you're viewing is likely delivered via a technology called switched digital video.  These channels turn themselves off when nobody in your area has been watching.  That is determined based on interaction with the box which is why you see the prompt on the screen with the warning.  Pressing select when prompted will confirm you are still watching the channel telling the equipment on our end to continue broadcasting.

Since I pay a lot of money for cable, I don't feel I should have to switch channels every 4 hours, or answer that I am "still watching". COX should find a fix for this as it is very annoying.

Sometimes I am not right in front of the TV when the prompt comes up, but I am actively listening. IMO, for the money I am paying for cable, I should be able to keep watching as long as I want without having to verify that I am still watching.

If you are getting Comcast Cable, why are you bothering a Cox forum?

Sorry, I was with Comcast for almost 20 years. I meant Cox.
