HD Audio formats from cable box.
What are the available audio formats via the cable box? The only thing I have seen is Digital Dolby. Looking for DTS-HD, Dolby TrueHD, etc.

The digital audio formats available via cable boxes are Dolby Digital and PCM.

I think you may find this thread helpful too.
Long story short, Cox "could" offer TrueHD on some of their content (like EOD) but since only certain recievers are compatible, and it doesn't give that much benefit, I don't think Cox will offer it any time soon. Most of what they do is repeat the signal give to them, which is usually DD and PCM.
BTW, If you have a surround system, it better to output PCM via optical SPDIF to the surround receiver, and then it can format the sound how ever you prefer.
