Has anyone who has been experiencing modem dropouts had their issue resolved?

I would like to know if anyone else who has tried absolutely everything to resolve the problem of drop outs, short of paying for an extra cable line, been able to keep their connection up for more than a few hours?  I had my internet and TV work with no problems for two years using a cheap splitter, so I know it's not on my end.

Yea, I would have helped you with this, but seems you would rather post on other's threads. Maybe a moderator who is paid to be nice will help you.

I have a sneaking suspicion that you are on the Cox payroll.

tsteph, are you using a gateway or separate modem & router?  Most on this board still recommend separate devices.  If you are still using a gateway your haven't done "absolutely everything" to resolve the problem or even help isolate the problem.  I, for one, pay for 50Mbps and get a solid 60Mbps over both wired and wireless "ac" with no noticeable dropouts.  And no, I'm not on Cox payroll, never have been.  I am retired from IT but worked in industry, never for an internet provider.

Thanks for responding!  I think my problem will be solved by adding a separate line coming in.  I called Cox and found that is is a reasonable, one time charge to do this, and would eliminate the need for a splitter.  I ran the extra line from the connection point to the modem today, so once the new drop is installed the problems should go away.  Thanks again.
