I recently noticed we have been missing some program episodes we have set to record as series for new episodes only. I thought it was odd because they don't show under missed recordings either. The latest one was last Friday's (11/7) season 5 episode 9 of Haven on SyFy, which I know was on and a new episode because it's listed on the network's website as aired. In checking our upcoming scheduled recordings, no Haven episodes appear there over the next 2 weeks, but in the Guide it lists the Haven season 5 episode 10 airing on 11/14 without correctly identifying it as a NEW episode so of course it won't record. I'm certain this is why we've missed other recordings in the past. This is a major glitch that needs to be addressed or the DVR feature Cox offers becomes a lame joke.

The accuracy of the guide information, including designating an episode as "NEW", is the responsibility of the data provider (TMS), not Cox. That being said, keep an ACCURATE log of dates/times/programs that were, as you see it, inaccurate. Provide this log to Cox so that they can pass it along to the data provider.
I've noticed that the guide is poor in identifying non-primetime cable channels as "NEW" or repeat. The fact that "Haven" is aired before primetime on a cable network may be part of the problem.
