Fax Installation
Does anyone know step by step installation process on connecting a fax machine too Cox phone service?

Step1. Unplug phone cord from phone modem.
Step 2. Plug fax machine into phone modem, same plug as phone was unplugged from.
Step 3. Make sure Error correction is off and baud is set to 9600 on Fax machine.
Step 4. Call your phone number and the number you are faxing from a cell phone and make sure you hear the fax machine pickup.
Step 5. Make a fax.

The fax machine's user guide is also a good source of information. You can often find a copy of the user guide online. Just do a Google search for "[brand name and model number] fax machine user guide."

I am having same issue.. my phone works dial tone but when i connect fax machine i have nothing. I need this for my home office and need assistance.

The instructions I gave should work. If they don't then there is either human error, or something wrong with the fax machine. To isolate, please try to describe what model fax and phone modem you have, and how they are connected together. Remember, you don't want to connect into a phone jack, but the jack on the back of the phone modem to rule as many issues out.
