I have the sound perfectly in sync with the video on all HD channels except ESPN2. Watching tennis, the serve toss hasn't reached peak when I hear the sound of the racket hitting the ball. Video must be at least 1/2 sec behind the audio. No such issue with ESPN, they are in sync. This isn't unique to the tennis, I noticed it this afternoon during the UConn womens game also. Don't know if it's an ESPN or Cox issue. Anyone else notice this?

I don't have cable, so I can't test, but maybe try watching the same feed online and see if it's the same? The loss of sync may happen before Cox even gets the feed.

That was the next thing I did, Health Edge. Used the WatchESPN app on my Apple TV connected thru the same AVR to the same TV and didn't have the problem. The sound was in sync with the video. I did I notice the sound feed was DD on cable vs stereo via Apple TV. Like I said, don't know if it in ESPN's feed or Cox rebroadcast. Thanks for the reply.

Which cable receiver do you have? Also, how are the audio output settings configured?
There are settings in some receivers to help with audio sync over HDMI. You can test that by going RCA R+L from receiver to TV and see if still the same. I don't think it would be a issue with DD though, because that would only delay audio, and it seems like you have a delayed video problem, if your seeing the ball hit before hearing it.

I have a Cisco 8742HDC dvr. Turned ESPN2 on this AM and back in sync. I had the issue for a couple of days but it looks like it's solved at least for now. Funny thing last night, the Pro Bowl on ESPN was perfect ... the QB was miked & his lips were in perfect sync with the audio. Switch to ESPN2 and the announcers looked like something from a very bad dubbed movie ... their lips lagged about 1/2 sec behind the audio. This happened on both the basketball game in the afternoon & tennis at night. Hope it doesn't happen again.
