emails from Cox

On Tuesday I got a very official looking e-mail from cox saying if I didn't fill out info on following page all of my services would be suspended immediately.Needless to say I didn't & my security software indicated it as a phishing message.TODAY I got a small box on the screen indicating Cox was transferring all my contacts & preferences,& I was to check the "ok" box.Again,I escaped from the page.

WHATS GOING ON.???

Could you post a screenshot of the small box?

Also, did you click on any links in the email?

Due to the fact you got the small box on the screen, I would scan the computer with your antivirus and an anti-malware program like malwarebytes.  Malwarebytes has a free version and can be downloaded from here: https://www.malwarebytes.org/    Make sure your antivirus and anti-malware databases are up to date before scanning.  I defiantly wouldn't use it for anything secure, like banking, until I had clean scans.
