Since yesterday, I keep getting timeouts on various accounts when I attempt to retrieve email. My settings don't seem to be the issue, as they often work just fine.
I will also occasionally get a dialog pop-up asking me to enter my ID and password, which seems to yield results about half the time.
There is no consistency on which of my accounts this occurs on. This *does* seem to be occurring more consistently during the day, however - which suggests to me it may be a server capacity issue.
Then, when the issue clears up, I find that I receive emails that have been delayed for hours.
The more I think about it, this has been an intermittent problem for YEARS with Cox email; it's just gotten more pronounced in recent months.
I am quite perturbed that this doesn't seem to have been addressed or even explained. Unacceptable.
Between this and ongoing cable service issues, I'm seriously considering leaving when my contract is up.

you are not alone. You can read several other threads on this forum about the same topic. Cox Moderators seem to have gone into individual accounts to fix the problem. One of them will probably respond to this question. If not, go to one of the other forum questions with the words "email problems" (or something similar). You can read what others have tried (nothing works to get rid of the pop up box asking for ID and password).

When you see these timeouts are you having any other connection issues on your device(s)?

Sad to say but you're wasting your time venting on the Forum or calling Tech Support. Foolproof way of getting Cox's attention and having your email moved to a server that will provide better service is by filing an online complaint with the FCC. If you troll the email complaints in this Forum you will see that a number of people instantly received a call from Cox Corporate Office right after they filed their FCC complaint.
