Hello,
I can certainly understand questioning this type of email. We did not and will not send an email requesting this type of information. This is what we call phishing emails. I suggest that you do not respond or give the requested information and please forward this email to phishingreport@cox.net.
Thanks,
Allan - Cox Support Forums Moderator.

Got the same email myself- stored it in a web mail spam subfolder on the slight chance that Cox wants to pursue the criminals sending these things but my experience with anyone used in these phishing attempts (Banks, PayPal, Cox, etc.) there is no real will to do anything so while it's technically against the law, in practice it's proving to be perfectly legal.
