Does cox throttle internet speeds now?

Over the past few days my internet speeds have been completely slowed down to non-usable levels after 5 or 6pm. My speeds were normal a week ago, then I decide to download about 70GB (my steam library) of games and things went bad.

My speeds are fine during most of the day, but after 5 or 6pm my internet becomes un-usable until the next day (it took me forever to get to this forum). What's up with that?

Throttling is the act of decreasing someone's speed after they used a certain amount of bandwidth. A, Cox doesn't do it. B, if they did, it wouldn't be related to time. What your explaining sounds more like congestion. The question is where.

Can you post some technical details of your problem? Modem/router/gateway? Wired vs Wireless? Speedtests? Also, have you tried this?
