Does anyone else find the blue display hard to read on the 6-channel Cisco 9865HDC DVR?
My wife and I both can't read the blue display on the front of the DVR. Is there any way to change the color or make it brighter. The blue just looks completely blurred from across the room. It's about 10 feet away. We had no problem reading the display on the old DVR and it was smaller text.

Thank you for sharing your feedback! There is no option for the brightness or color of the display. You can manage what displays in regards to time always, channel always or for the display to power off when the box is turned off. Is it possible that the protective plastic wrap is still on the front of the box?

I agree. The blue display is nearly impossible to read from more than 5-6 feet away. The white or yellow displays were easily legible from 15+ feet. Unfortunately , I don't think there is any way to change it without different hardware.

Thanks for the response ColleenD. That's the first thing I checked though. We had friends over last night and they agree the display is impossible to read from 10 feet away. I am seriously thinking about returning this box and going back to the old one. That is if Cox will let me. I doubt they will though :/

Agree. It is impossible to read. I find that if I squint real good, I can make out the time...but it's easier to pull out my cell phone to check the clock. Gotta love the idiot that designed that feature on the box.

I just upgraded to the Contour DVR 2 days ago. I agree that the blue display is hard to read. So far, this is the most disappointing feature of the new DVR for me.
