Why doesn't Cox let us purchase a mini box or whatever else will suffice for this digital-only thing?
Why must we pay rent each month?
I don't think we are the only people in Arizona who are on fixed incomes & your company is nickle & diming us out of the market. We've been with Cox TV for a long time, but we are aware of other options & we already use Century Link for our land-line phone & internet service.
If you'll agree to let us buy that box, and the price is within reason, then we will continue with your service. Otherwise, we will have no choice but to go with direct TV from Century Link.
Thank you in advance for your response.

At this time mini-box purchases are not being offered. I'll pass your suggestion along to our product team.

A related question...will I still NEED Tuning Adapters for my TiVo Roamio and Bolt?
I can actually get MOST channels now with just a TiVo and a CableCard, including HBO and Encore....I ran some tests.
When my market goes all-digital in July, shouldn't I be able to 86 the TAs? They cost me heat and electricity and signal quality.

The tuning adapter completes the 2-way communication for switch digital channels. If at any time the channel is mapped to our switch digital server, you will need a tuning adapter in order to continue viewing that channel. The digital transition will not affect this.

Well, that's disappointing.
I hate the Cisco TAs; I have to restart both about once a month and changing channels is very SLOWWWW.

I agree Ernst.
I have a Samsung Media Player with a CableCard and the TA. Like you, I have to reboot the TA and deal with the SLOWWWW channel change. Plus, the minibox has spoiled me with the unbelievably rapid channel change as well as channel entry (39 vs 1039). Oh well, at least I get all my pay channels!
