Cox survey
Has anyone else experienced a survey opening in a new tab that says it is on behalf of Cox? It has happened on two of my computers, but not at the same time. One computer uses Firefox, the other Chrome. Both times, I closed the tab and immediately ran McAfee Antivirus and Malwarebytes Antimalware. Neither could find a problem. I also checked my uninstall programs link and couldn't find any programs that were recently installed and/or any I couldn't identify. Has this happened to anyone else? Is this truly a survey on behalf of Cox?

Do you have an ad blocker installed in your browsers? I have never personally seen this survey popup but I know several others have reported the exact same thing. I use Ad Block Plus.

You might have a Browser Hijacker infecting your browsers. McAfee and Malwarebytes won't detect them. HiJackThis is another free program to identify and remove hijackers.
Good how-to article at http://www.wikihow.com/Use-HiJackThis

I've not had a browser pop-up like yours show up in a long while. It does sound suspicious, cox normally sends an email for survey participation (or at least I've gotten one to rate phone support reps).

Ok so don't go to these websites but i just had this happen to me.. Pretty weird. From what i can tell its from a bad adnetwork (as i was on another site moments before, walked away and saw this random page) You will notice if you check ur history that it opens like 3 sites quickly.. As long as you didn't interact witht the website then you should be fine but if you clicked any links or even hit ok you most likley have been infected with some sort of virus and should scan your machine with a good anti malware
