Hello,
I currently subcribe to cox TV, Phone and Internet. But this question is for TV. My elderly mother has moved in with us so we added the Movie Pak because she likes to watch Lifetime Movie Network (308) and BYU TV (352).
I was wondering if any of your cable boxes have the ability edit the channels so that only the ones you are subscribing to shows when surfing? My mother gets lost surfing in the middle of channels we don't subscribe to and it pains me that she sits here for hours till someone gets home with nothing to watch.
I would greatly appreciate your help.
Bruce

If you have Contour you have a couple of choices. You can go into Settings/Channels/Skipped Channels and check off all of the channels that you don't want to have show up. Alternatively you could go into Settings/Channels/Favorites and check off all of the channels that you do want to see and then Settings/Guide/Default Guide View, picking List Favorite Channels View as the default.

Thanks for the reply. I don't currently have the Contour service. I was hoping this ability would be possible on one of the cable boxes or maybe the DVR* box?

There isn't a way for for the guide to show what channels you do/don't get but there could be a to program it to only show certain channels, like Ratinthekitchen suggested.
What is possible and how to do it depends on the type of box and the software running on it. Does it look like any of these? Or more like this? Easiest way to find out which software it runs is to reboot (disco/reco power) the box and watch as it boots. Just like a computer, at the start before the progress bar, it will say what software.
