My Cox email on my iPad is showing that there are 16,000 emails in my inbox. There are none. My iCloud email has no such problem. How do I get this mailbox counter back working. I have had so much trouble with Cox email....mostly on my desktop but now it is on my iPad as well. I really need to get this solved.

I tried to delete the cox email in my iPad and then add it back, but it will not allow me to delete. It froze the iPad.

Well, this is what happened. I couldn't delete the account so I just left it and paid no attention. Then I went to check my email and there was no Cox account...just my iCloud account. So, I figured it deleted. I went into settings to set up the Cox account again. I had all my settings written down. I started and then moved to the next page in settings and it said IMAP. My old account was POP so of course I had no settings for IMAP. I clicked something and there was the account! I didn't fill in anything or do anything....it just said I now have an IMAP account. I went back to Mail and, yes, there is a new Cox account. It seems to be working. Does any of this sound even logical?

Oh, and there are not 16000 emails now. There are zero.

It seems to be working....the format looks different in the menu but I can't exactly remember what the old one was like....I know on the old one the Cox and iCloud mailboxes were all together in one space, but now the iCloud is on one page, and Cox is on another. I have all kinds of trouble with Cox mail on my desktop and have worked with Apple all week. Cox is always offline and disconnecting. I wonder if this was part of it and if it will change.
I was surprised that the IMAP account just set up on its own. Is that the way it always does?
