Cox 8642 Record 2 DVR and 9865 Record 6 DRV

I currently have two Cox 8642 Record 2 DVR boxes as part of a whole home DVR setup.  Can I replace one of the 8642 DVR boxes with a 9865 Record 6 DVR?  If I do this will the Record 2 and Record 6 DVR boxes be able to talk to each other as part of the whole home DVR setup?

There's no technical reason why you can't have this setup.  There is an additional cost however for the Record 6 vs. the existing 2-tuner service.  If you're looking to minimize any additional costs another option could be replace both 2-tuner boxes with a Record 6 and a client box.
