Monday night, I know I missed 2 series scheduled to record because of conflicts. Last evening I went to the "Missed Recordings" screen and nothing showed. I thought that if a recording is missed because all tuners are in use recording higher priority shows the missed one would show on this screen. I'm on software version 3.4.0.1201. Any ideas??

There was 1 show listed under Missed Recordings dated 11/6. I know I missed at least 2 on 11/10. I unplugged the DVR, let is sit for 2 minutes then plugged it in. This should complete the "restart of the receiver" you posted Mike, correct? Same result after the restart ... the single show from 11/6 still showing and nothing from 11/10.

What are the two series recordings that had episodes airing on 11/10/14? What time did each episode begin and end? Also, what else was scheduled to record on Monday the 10th?
I'd like to see if we can get to the bottom of this for you!

Thanks for the reply, Becky. I have the Record 2 DVR running Contour version 3.4.0.1201. On Monday the 10th, I had the following recording schedule (in priority order):
8-9 PM time slot:
2 Broke Girls - CBS-HD 8-8:30 PM
The Millers - CBS-HD 8:30-9 PM
DWTS - ABC-HD 8-10 PM
Gotham - FOX-HD 8-9 PM
As expected, the 1st 3 shows recorded, Gotham did not but did not have an entry in Missed Recordings.
10-11 PM time slot:
NCIS-LA - CBS-HD
Castle - ABC-HD
The Blacklist NBC-HD
Again NCIS-LA and Castle recorded but no entry for The Blacklist in Missed Recordings.
The only entry in Missed Recordings is "A-Z" from 11/6 and it's still there.
As a side note, it would be nice if this function worked but is still is a post-mortem. As I've posed previously, I would love it to work like the old Passport guide. With Passport, you would see conflicts in both the guide and scheduled recordings screens. Potential missed recording would show up with a red circle with a line thru it indicating a conflict. This would allow you to take action (adjust priorities) before you missed a recording. Thanks.

Two minor nits: 1) Contour will not permit conflicts in one-time recordings. 2) Contour was not designed by Cox.

Yes Cox jointly develops Contour. This is different from how they previously licensed IPGs. And stop repeating that contour will tell you about one time conflicts. That's not why I said and nobody cares.
If if there is a one time recording scheduled and you Later have a series recording contour gives no warning.

Domino, we beat this to death in another thread. We are talking about 2 different things, I am using the series record option, you are using one-time recordings. I agree, when you try to schedule a one-time recording it will tell you if there is a conflict. No such thing exists for series, if you schedule more series to record in the time slot than you have tuners you get no notification. It does it's thing based on priorities and never even tells you it will or did miss anything.

That's not what I said. I said that Contour won't let you create conflicts with one-time programming. It won't.
Yes, Cisco went and bought the company that created the early Trio guide. Cox does do a little tweaking, but it is still Cisco's (Cisco Videoscape) baby. Gee, and people wonder why Contour isn't allowed on Motorola DVRs? Nice little incestuous relationship Cox has with Cisco.

This "Missed Recordings" function is sure strange. It won't tell me if I missed a recording because the box was busy with higher priority recordings ... but ... tonight it listed all CBS series because CBS scheduled the football game in place of them. All 3 series, 3 Broke Girls, The Millers, and Scorpion showed as missed recordings.
Have the designers ever used their product? Did they design this in a vacuum? The way this functions is useless if you do series recording. It doesn't tell you about a conflict but does let you know the network scheduled something else. WTF?

We've been able to duplicate the problem with one of our 2-tuner DVRs. It's possible there is a difference in the way the 2-tuner and 6-tuner DVRs are programmed to document Missed Recordings, so we've forwarded the information in this thread to our Video Product Team. If we get any updates, we will let you know!
