Contour App defaults to Out of Home mode
I cannot get contour app to connect to home network. I've reinstalled app, rebooted ipad, modem and router, and confirmed that my PC and ipad are both on same ip address (170.218.219.22). Please advise. Thank you.

Are you sure you mean IP 170.218.219.22? If so, then thats the problem. That IP is registered Progressive. See here.
Do you have a VPN setup on your router maybe? Or do you have a Progressive Insurance office nearby you whom wifi you might be on accidentally?

Thank you. I have disabled VPN, reset modem and router, and reinstalled contour app. IP now shows as 72.200.25.xx on all devices. However, Contour still returns out of home error message. Please advise further. Thank you.

Are you signing in using the primary cox.net email address for that IP address you're now using? In order to operate in "In Home" mode you must sign in with the cox.net email address assigned to your modem from the IP address currently assigned to the same modem.

Thanks Chris. I am signing in with my primary cox email address. Whether it's assigned to the modem, I don't know.

Yes it must be the primary ID that is linked to the same modem as your current IP address. When I look up your information from here I get the impression you're probably not posting from the same modem's Internet connection that your primary login is linked to.

Thanks Chris. I only have one modem and it was provided by Cox. I Am posting from a device on a home network using that modem. I don't understand how my ID cannot be attached to that modem. Please elaborate. Thank you.

You may have to sign out of the Contour app and sign back in, but I think I've gotten this fixed. Let me know!

Colleen, could you say what you did to fix it? I have seen alot of others with similar problems post here and this is the first time something new fixed it? Anything relevant or was it account specific?

To access all the features of the Contour app, you must subscribe to Cox Advanced TV, have the Contour guide, and Cox Preferred Internet service. If you do not subscribe to these services, you can still use the app; however, all features will not be available.
Are you specifically getting a message that says out of home mode?

Without getting into too much detail, beast625's issue was account specific. There was a provisioning error that was causing the modem to link elsewhere on the back end instead of the account it was set up on.
