Connecting mini box with TIVO dvr
Help! How do I connect my TIVO with the mini box I am now required to use? No one at the COX Solutions store seems to know.

Most Tivo's use cable cards, so there is no need of a minibox. What Tivo do you have?

The mini box isn't compatible for connection to a TiVo. What model TiVo do you have? If it can accept a cable card it would be best to have a cable card and tuning adapter instead of the mini box on this TV. You can pick them up at the store, or schedule a professional install by calling 1-877-820-8202.
If your TiVo does not have the option to use a cable card I suggest calling TiVo directly at 877-367-8486.

cox phone and chat support reps insist mini box must be used with TiVo bolt with cable card, but mini box has no USB port unlike Cisco STA1520 tuner currently in use. I think ColleenD is correct and I should ignore all advice to install mini box behind or in place of Cisco tuner. Original installers from Cox said they set up a MOCA connection which explains the cable splitter and the two coax and usb lines coming into Cisco tuner and TiVo bolt. I am not a tech pro so can't be certain about all of this misdirection from phone and chat "support"

The TiVo Bolt uses a CableCARD, so no mini box is required. Connect the coax cable from the room outlet directly to the back of your TiVo bolt and you'll be in business!

Thank you. But why did Cox installers split the cable so 1 cable plugs into TiVo and the other cable plugs into Cisco tuner box? And there are USB cables going in to both boxes as well. I remember them saying something about "MOCA" that I did not understand.

It could be a tuner adapter, which connects to the Tivo to provide a way for the Tivo to request SDV (Switch Digital Video) channels. See link for instructions on TA's
