connecting a led tv to dvr
I am replacing my old TV with a new LED Smart TV. Currently I have my DVR connected to a surround sound system via a HDMI cable, and my TV is connected to the DVR with mode S (I think), the three color coded cables). I would like to connect my new TV with HDMI, however there is only one HDMI input available on the DVR, which is used for the Surround Sound, and I want to leave it that way. How are what is the best way to connect my new TV to the DVR for the best Picture quality. Thanks, John Thomas

The HDMI connector on the back of your DVR is an output, not an input. Regardless, your Surround Sound receiver should have an HDMI output on it. Connect it to your TV's HDMI input.
DVR HDMI output -> Surround Sound Receiver. Surround Sound HDMI output -> TV HDMI input.
