When will Cox email be compatible with Windows 8? I have had to download and use a program from Thunderbird for my email since buying a computer that runs Windows 8. I have been told that Cox has been working on this issue since late 2012 and can't believe that they dropped the ball on such a huge issue. I have rare problems with Thunderbird, but would like to use the programs I'm accustomed to using, mainly Windows Live Mail, which I used for years with Windows 7 with no trouble at all. It is my understanding that it won't work with Outlook or Outlook Express either.

We brought IMAP service to the residential side on June 25, so the stock Windows 8 mail app can use our server with no trouble. Our article on email server names was updated on that date. If you prefer to continue using Thunderbird (which I personally like better than most Microsoft mail apps except Outlook 2003, unfortunately for work we have to use Outlook 2010 ) then you can find the specific custom settings here.
