I've seen this posted before but with no answer. I am new to the Cox Cloud service. I have successfully backed up all the folders I needed backed up on my 2 home PC's to the cloud using the Cox drive software. However, going to drive.cox.com and trying to use the Upload function, I get nothing but an error #2046 on both PC's. I called the Cloud support number and was told to clear my browser history, cache, etc. I did the following on both PC's. I cleared the history, cache, etc for Firefox, IE 11 and Edge. I restarted my modem, router and computers... all the stuff they tell a noob. None of this helped for either PC. They told me it might be because I was trying to upload something on one PC and it was interfering with the other. I finished both backups more than 24 hours ago, but still get the error.
So what I am saying is Cloud support is of no help. I think they know what the problem is but refuse to tell me and instead give me the "noob" run around. If the system is broke I wish they'd just tell me. If Cox knows it's broke, please tell me. I'm not the first person this has happened to so I'm sure they know if this can be fixed and what is necessary to do so.
If someone from Cox knows what to do, or another user does, I'd appreciate a straight answer... Thanks.

Did they say what error 2046 related to? What did you mean by "I think they know what the problem is but refuse to tell me"? I couldn't find any documentation on the different error codes. The biggest issue seem to be people using the wrong usernames (needs to be primary) or a there is a issue with the way the account is set up.

I cannot find any info on what this error means either. I am logging in correctly to drive.cox.com. I can see all my backups for both PC's and am able navigate through them without a problem. But when I go to the On Line files section and try to use the Upload button, I immediately am taken to a screen showing the error #2046 code and that's as far as it goes.
I've seen this problem posted on this forum before without an answer so I know I'm not the first one they've had to deal with concerning this error. That's why I am saying they should know how to fix it if there is a fix. Hence, the part about refusing to tell me (ie, they know it's broken and for some reason won't say so). I may be overly paranoid for saying that, but if going through all the standard resets and clearing on 2 PC's and using 3 different browsers didn't help, you begin to think it's something on their side of the house. If that is the case, I'd wish someone at Cox would just say so. If it's something I need to do, then why make me jump through hoops? They could have said, if all this doesn't work, then here's what you need to do. But I didn't get that from them.
Again, maybe I'm a little paranoid, but after testing my Internet connection using Cox's Speed tool and getting 130Mbps down and 12.5 Mpbs up and then only getting around 250kbps doing the backups makes me think something isn't quite right with the Cox Cloud system.

Could you include a link to the error or screen shot? Its a long shot but maybe that will give us some clue.
Knowing something is broken and knowing how to fix it are two different things. The Cloud software was outsourced to a 3rd party, thats why Cox pushes the support to that number. Also, I feel as if there isn't any training or documentation available to your normal Cox support staff. They make you jump through hoops because most don't actually know how the software works, but rather troubleshooting steps that sometime works.
Thats the bandwidth cap to the backup servers. The backup process is design to take place while your system is idle and so uploads slowly over a long time. Not much you are going to be able to do about that IMO.

Here's the screenshot.
I didn't expect Cox tech to know the answer, but I contacted Cloud support. You'd think they would know what their own error codes mean and what to do about them.

Looks like the error is coming when the plugin is trying to load something. If you right click on that progress bar in the blue field, do you get any options that might tell us which plugin?
Also, one thing you might have them try is to create a test account and see if you can log and upload into that. That would isolate a PC issue from a account issue. Strong evidence suggest it's a account issue since effecting 2 PC's, but there could be software similarities between the two PC's.
A moderator's input would be helpful at this time. Is there any documentation on error codes? Cox's support site comes up dry for me.

I've been trying this on 2 different PC's and 3 different browsers... Firefox, IE11 and Edge. I get the same results each time. The screen is dead once it gets to this point, which is immediately after clicking on the upload button. Right clicking the progress bar doesn't show anything that would be helpful. I'm running Win10 Home, 64 bit on both. Whatever add ons, plugins, etc that are on one PC's browsers is the same on the other. So yes, it may be something isn't loading. But again, you'd think Cloud Support would be aware of this as the cause of the error. They design error codes so the developer knows what the problem is. That is the real problem. Why doesn't Cloud Support know what it's own error codes mean? You're right by thinking this could as simple as turning on/off Java, Flash, Shockwave or allowing some other function to run but again, why don't they know that?
Not sure how to create a test account. You have to login using your primary Cox account.
Thanks for trying to help. Just hope my folder backups are really functional. They all show green check marks and say successful.

I turned off my antivirus and firewall. Using Norton Security. Upload still gave same error. I will call Cloud Support again tomorrow when I have time. I realize Cox Support is not the primary "go to" people for this issue. I was just posting here in hopes someone else who might have had this problem knew the answer. The last time I talked with Cloud, they said if I continued to have the problem, they would escalate it to a higher tier. I guess this is the way I'll have to go.
I still think it's pretty poor of a tech support operation to not even be aware of what their own error codes mean. I'll report here what happens when and if my case is escalated and how or if it was solved. Thanks to all.
