cisco 3010 modem can't log on
Hello,
I was wondering if you had the cox firmware update for cisco 3010 modem. I am currently using this linksys but would have tried to switch over but it seems the software is not registering. it says that the ethernet cord is not connected and asking for username and password. Thanks

Not sure exactly what you mean. The symptoms your describing don't match a firmware issue. Can the modem itself get online, like do you get four solid green lights on the front? How is it asking for a password? If you mean the 192.168.100.1 page then just leave the fields blank and press enter. What is saying the Ethernet cord isn't connected? Sounds more like a wiring issue then firmware issue IMO. Could you give more info?

This sounds like an issue with wiring. Try rebooting the computer with everything plugged in see if that solves it. If not, replace the ethernet cord. If you're still getting the same issue, and all the lights are green on the modem, there may be a problem with your ethernet controller on the computer. Try another computer and see if you get the same results.
