Is there a fix for the Cisco 1520's? We had the same exact problem with Cox Home DVR, sometimes the channels will not tune in!
Unfortunately 90%+ of what we watch is recorded and watched later so having a tuning resolver that does not work properly causes issues. If we could get an email when Cox updates the boxes that would help. I could at least check on them at that point. For now I have them getting power cycled daily but my PDU.
Any advice would be great.
Thanks,
Rich.

ColleenD - Thanks for checking on a Firmware update for the Cisco STA1520 Tuning Adapter.
If no update is available could you please explain why Cox has chosen not to push out FW Version F.1901
According to TiVo and Cisco - FW Version F.1901 has a fix for failed tuning requests.

byraninphx has asked the exact question I want to ask. Why has Cox not moved to the latest TA firmware??? It was released 8 MONTHS ago, and fixes a problem that I'm sure thousands of Cox customers are experiencing, where channels refuse to tune after the TA has been on for a number of weeks.
Sure rebooting the box fixes the problem, but that doesn't help when you come home to blank recordings of live sports events because the channel decided not to tune.

Is there some technical reason why the TA firmware isn't being updated?
If you could do some further investigation for us that would be awesome, thanks!

We really need a fix for these Tuning Adapters.
There have been at least 3 complete outages for all 3 of my TAs. Requiring a reboot to get them going. I can't recall having so many outages in such a short period.

I just noticed that my Cisco Tuning Adapters got updated this morning at 2:30am, Interested to see if there will be any improvement in reliability.
New Firmware is:
FLASH: STA1.0.0_1520_LR_F.2001 Date: 11/19/13
Image File Version: 1.0.0.2001
An interesting note about F.2001 is that it now supports 8 SDV Sessions, so if there ever was an 8 tuner device, this firmware along with a PKM908 CableCARD could support 8 simultaneous streams.

Glad to hear that. Both of mine are still on 1601 but maybe they will get upgraded also. Please let me know how it does.

My TA finally updated to firmware version 2001 here in SB, thanks Cox. Let's be a little more on top of it next time, especially when it fixes a well know bug that's been reported by many customers.
Thanks

F.2001 definitely fixed the SDV Mini Carousel Load Failures. I have had Zero Load Failures and Errors since the update. Before this update the Load Failures would increment a few hundred per day.
But one of my TA's still had a complete failure to tune any SDV channels without a full reboot of the TA. Hoping that was an isolated incident.
Time will tell....
Update: 10/08/14, 04:24am - all 3 TA's rebooted, then would not connect without another reboot.
Status: B'Cast Only
SDV Server Unavailable
At 3am a SDV recording did not happen, due to No Signal.
