Channels without a cable box

Hello, it was my understanding that Cox will have available a limited amount of channels without a cable box. I'm curious because the TV I have that doesn't have a cable box can only pickup local channels and nothing else. Am I doing something wrong here? Can someone confirm if the channels without a cable box is limited only to local channels?

Hi christophe, we do have a limited number of channels available without a cable box. Usually, you have to go into the TVs setup menu and tell it to scan for new channels/add new channels. Check your cable connection first to make sure it is tightly connected. Here is a link to our channel line up: http://bit.ly/1kuMkbw Check to make sure you select your area for service (upper right-hand corner) and change it to reflect your location.

Also make sure your TV is set to cable and not antenna.

For the time being, 25-50 analog stations can be tuned by your TV. The cable should connect directly to your TV, and you should scan for received channels as per the instructions in your TV's manual. What is the make/model number of your TV? What is your location? Are you signed up for "Starter" or "Essential" service?

Don318, thank you! That is exactly what I did wrong! Scanned it on cable instead of antenna. Got about 40 channels. Thanks so much!
