Hi partos,

UNC was moved to digital only last night. I apologize for any inconvenience this has caused. You can still get the channel with a digital ready TV or a cable receiver.  If you have a digital TV, I suggest running the auto scan again to pick up the new channel mapping. Let me know if this helps. If you don't have a digital TV and need help adding a receiver to your account please email me at coxhelp@cox.com.

Stephanie,

In a nutshell, does this mean every regular Cox cable connected TV requires more equipment to get back channel 6?  Is there a cost for each additional receiver?  Obviously I am dismayed that I have lost a channel I've had and enjoyed for many years. Could it be changed so we would have access to the same channels now that we had before October 28?  Even though I don't understand the technology, my request seems reasonable and fair.

A follow-up question is: Will other channels disappear for those of us who don't have the latest and greatest television?

Thank you.

dialtone,

There is a rental fee and a digital subscription fee when you upgrade to our Advanced TV service. You also get our interactive program guide, the option for OnDemand and PPV, and our Music Choice channels with the upgrade.

I can't say what might happen in the future (otherwise I'd give you the winning lotto numbers  ) but the times are turning to digital services to free-up bandwidth in order offer additional services and value to our customers. There could be a promotion to let you try the service for free for a few months to see if it is something you'd enjoy. You can call your local Account Specialist at 757-222-1111 to get more details.
