can't send mail from cox

When attempting to enter e-mail text, I get an error msg: "security settings blocking Java". I use Norton Internet security. This is a new development? What use is an e-mail acct that won't/can't send?

Hi itzfritz, are you using a third party email client? Or Cox Web Mail?  You may need to check your Norton settings to see if anything updated and affected JAVA or vice versa.
