Can't get past 30Mbps with Premier Internet & DOCSIS 3 modem

I have the premier internet access and can't get anywhere close to the 50Mbps.  3rd party test sites shows 8-10Mbps, Cox speed test shows 20Mpbs.  I do have a DOCSIS 3 modem.

Other posters have had an issue with the wrong service code being set on their account, limiting their throughput.

Can a COX moderator please check my service code?

Thanks
John

There doesn't appear to be any service code issue however the downstream signals do look a little stronger than we like.  I would however suggest trying without the router first to see if here is any difference. -Chris

Here's the speedtest right off the Ethernet port of the modem - same/similar results:

Not sure if you meant to attach something to that post however I did look at your most recent speed tests you just did and they appear to be where they should be.  I'd say whatever you did to get those results corrected the issue.

Those signal levels are waaaaay to high. You must be using a signal amplifier of some type.

Shouldnt the 8 channels be + 10 to -10  the closer to zero the better?  +19/20 seems a bit too much.

There's a powered amplifier that Cox installed right in front of the modem - I believe the levels were low without it.  I think they did put an attenuator on it, but maybe it's not enough?

Oddly enough the testing straight from the modem to the Cox internet speed test works great (50+Mbps down, 20+Mbps up), but when verifying to a 3rd party (DSL Reports), both drop considerably (20Mbps Down, 2Mbps Up).

My service appears considerably slower than my last service provide (50Mbps Comcast in the Midwest), so it's not just the testing I'm comparing to, but the perceived connectivity.  Same pc's, same router, just different cable provider.

Maybe there's a difference with how Cox interconnects with other providers, or maybe it's a factor of being in Phoenix vs. Chicago????

When you say your service seems slower, what do you mean? Web browsing? Downloading? Streaming?

And I would still take a look at those signal levels. How is the cable wiring laid out from the street to your modem? Unless there is something very unusual going on, I believe someone took the lazy way of fixing a possible signal problem.

Ideally, we try to avoid using amplifiers whenever possible, especially when there's also Whole Home DVR/Contour in use in the same home.

"Green" Rx levels are currently defined as -10dBmV to +5dBmV with 0 as ideal. Something is out of balance. We'll definitely want the service call here.
