Can I use my modem?
Hello all,
I recently just got COX bundle package(cable, internet, phone) and while I will never use the phone(but will still be paying for it), my question is. Can I use a modem I bought myself? Or am I obligated to use theirs? The modem I bought DOES NOT have a telephone line hookup on it unlike the one the COX guy installed. But like I said I will not be buying a home phone but I will be paying for it.
The modem I bought is the SB6141

The modem that was provided is part of the phone service and for that reason will need to remain installed. You are not required to use it for Internet however should you have your own modem you would prefer to use so long as that device is on the list of approved modems. Visit http://www.cox.com/residential/support/internet/article.cox?articleId=b2ec95d0-7ef9-11df-5590-000000000000 for more information on that topic.
