I recently blocked two callers and since then everyone who calls receives the "the number you have reached is not accepting calls" message. Any ideas what went wrong here? I would like to leave the two numbers blocked, but may have turn it off to see if my phone is available again.

How did you try to block them? Online? Star code? If so, which?

I blocked them using the telephone. Following the instructions from the recording. When I call the number for set up, it tells me that I have two numbers blocked.

Are you still able to dial out and place calls?

i followed the instructions below. It was a few months ago, so I can't tell you from memory. Should I turn off the service and test the line?

The Cox Digital Telephone feature, Selective Call Acceptance, let's you decide which calls you will accept. To use this service, follow these steps:
To add the last caller to your acceptance list:

aqp, you are using Selective Call Acceptance, that means you will only accept calls form the two numbers you have "blocked", all others will be blocked. Follow the instructions to turn if off. You want selective call rejection, code *60.

Never mind ... Just needed to enter *60 again, and it turned "call screen service" back on. #01# will block the last number that called you.
Thank you for this service. ever since moving into our new home, we have been getting up to a dozen phone solicitations each day. This gives us an option to "strike back".

For 30 numbers, that's it. At a dozen a day, you will quickly run out of capabilities.

After reading the instructions on cox.net to selectively block calls, I tried it. The last number that called us was 480-745-7347. So, I clicked "speaker", and when I got the dial tone, I entered *60. I was prompted for the number, and I entered the above number. So far so good. I hung up and pulled up a couple more numbers, clicked speaker, and entered *60 again. This time I received a message that "Your call screen service is now off".
What am I doing wrong. How do I get the "call screen service" turned back on?
