I would like to know if the level of the sound on the Audion Output (Red-White) jacks is at a fixed level. I can't change it with the Volume buttons on my remote. If i put the slider all the way left, the sound goes off. If I bump it up just one notch, sound goes up to some predetermined level and doesn't change at all when I move the slider back and forth.
Thank you.

Hi J,
There are a couple of things you can try in this situation. Is the Cox remote programmed to turn the TV on and off? By default, the volume control is programmed to operate through the TV--when successfully synced with the correct TV remote code.
You can change this by "locking" the volume so that you can control it through the cable receiver, which may allow more variance in the volume level as you move the volume "slider" left and right. Choose the remote you are using from this INDEX and follow the steps for the Volume Lock/Volume Control. Please let us know if this helps!

Do you have a Cisco 8642? If so, there is/was a known bug with the varible output of RCA (Red+White) if using HDMI as your video output. See this post.
"I believe that there is a bug in the 8642's firmware that prevents variable RCA connection audio output when 8642 is connected via HDMI. Would the moderator please check with CISCO and see if they will fix the 8642 firmware so it behaves like the 4642 for variable audio RCA connector output. "
