arris modem

I just upgraded to the new Ultimate Internet. I have ARRIS TG2472. I ran the internet speed download is 54 and upload was like 15. I thought I was suppose to get 300 speed? I reset the modem and still doing the same thing. What do I need to do to correct the speed? Is it working correctly. Thank you for any assist or help.  Elizabeth Fowler
