50-100 mgbits/sec & DOCSIS 3.0

My current Modem is a Cisco Linksys CM 100 (2008).  My router is a Cisco Linksys WRT54G2 (2009) and my computer is HP p61204 Pentium E5300 @ 2.6 GHZ (2008).  Do I need to upgrade those as well to take advantage of DOCSIS 3.0?  Other than load time my current set-up meets our needs.  Costco has a Motorola Surfboard SB6141 that is DOCSIS 3.0.

Hello Falcon,

Your current computer setup sounds fine.  The router you may want to upgrade also, there is faster technology out there - I would recommend purchasing a wireless N.  That would allow you to achieve the speeds that DOCSIS 3.0 are capable of.

Fine for DOCSIS 2.0, but the Cisco CM100 is not a DOCSIS 3.0 modem.

@Falcon

What speeds were you looking to obtain? Whats your internet tier? If your looking for above 100Mb speed, you would need to make sure you get a router with ALL gigabit ports, both LAN and WAN.
