Can’t watch all shows on my iPad

I get all the channels, and most shows I can watch on my iPad while in home WiFi. However, recently every so often it only gives me the option to record a series but not to watch it. This has only happened with select shows which is not consistent with a certain network ie-I can watch one show on HBO but not another.
