New Modem Installation

How do I install another Modem?

Thanks,

Marcus

  • Hi Marcus, take a look at the modem you have now. If it is a standalone modem, three things connect to the ports on the back of the device: the power cord, the ethernet cord, and the coax cable. If it is a modem/router combo device and all of your devices are wireless, it may only have a coax cable and a power cord connected to it. When you disconnect your current modem to install a new one, move the coax cable cord (and the ethernet cord, if applicable) to the new device. Then, plug in the power cord to the new device. That's all there is to it! -Becky, Cox Support Forums Moderator
