Using Yahoo Email on iMac Double Emails On Old Emails
I was able to set up Yahoo emails on my iMac mail icon. After everything download onto my iMac mail my messages have doubled. Looking at my emails before I did it are showing a number 2 next to them. When I click on the 2> two of the same emails drops down. When I click on one of them and hit delete to go to trash both disappear leaving one in my inbox. The thing is that email is now blank. I go into trash and add back to inbox. The message appears again but the 2> come back. I now have over 1,000 messages which should only be 500. Has anyone figured out what to do to get messages back to normal?28Views0likes1CommentCox lowered upload from 100gig to 35gig in Portsmouth VA?
I am located in Portsmouth, Virginia, for the past year, since March 2nd of 2023, Cox upgraded all our internet to 1000 gig download and 100 gig upload; I am an international streamer and have been streaming online for five years now, and I was so happy that Cox was upgrading us to 100gig upload. Now, the problem! Just recently, I logged into my account this month, May 5th, 2024, and low and behold, they changed my plan without notification (Without sending an email or text) that they downgraded me to 35 gigabytes. I called Tech, and they were closed after hours. Then, I used their online texting service and reached someone overseas who could only read what I see now on my account and not what I had in the past. So, pretty much, I was talking to the wall! Has anyone else noticed their upload speeds drop? I have 7 wifi security cameras around the house, 8 wifi lightbulbs, 2 Wifi Wyze robot vacs (I test for Wyze), Pretty much all Wifi computerized house and most of my cameras are pet cams because I do TNR (Catch feral cats), watching the food bowl at what times the feral cats come around. Wyze cameras are cheap, around $20 a piece, and their monthly service is only $3, which helps to cut costs down for a disabled veteran like myself. I don't have TV service and only watch streaming TV through the internet, which Tmobile Military provides Netflix at a discount or free. The only high cost is COX, and I wish they wouldn't charge me $100 plus dollars for internet, but I need that high speed for streaming. Now they just cut the upload and didn't even cut my bill. Upload is critical for a multi-video chat stream while doing a professional video game presentation from home.32Views0likes2Comments- 8Views0likes3Comments

New Panoramic Wifi broadcasting two networks?
Just set up my Panoramic Wifi (Technicolor CGM4331) and configured it to use the same network name/password as my prior Orbi mesh network. I have turned off all Orbi devices - the only modem or router in the house now is the single CGM4331 device. Most of my devices automatically connected, which is why I chose the same name/credentials. No issue there. My mobile devices now see two available wifi networks to pick from: One using the old network name (we'll call it OldNetwork) and one labeled "CoxWiFi". Both are showing as WiFi6. Both disappear if I turn off the CGM4331. OldNetwork shows as secured, and I have to put in my password to access it. CoxWiFi shows as unsecured, however it wants me to log in with my Cox account credentials to access it. Both appear to have similar speeds per the mobile device settings, and neither is labeled 2.4 GHz or 5.0 GHz which was my first thought. Why is the CGM4331 broadcasting a second identical-seeming WiFi network under CoxWiFi name with different login settings from my existing "primary" WiFi network? How do I shut it down/secure it/combine it with the existing network?54Views0likes3CommentsClass action???
Yahoo is one of the most unsecured emails. They have had many breaches in data and cyberattacks. They own your info because it is free and they are known for selling your info. I was shocked when I went to open my email and was locked out. The only option is to agree to yahoo’s terms of agreement which I will have to waive my rights. I have been a customer for cox for 15 years and I am going to drop them like a bad habit. We should file a class action against them!!!!429Views1like19CommentsiPhone Mail and IMAP/POP3
You would think any email migration plan would have been designed to work seamlessly with the default Mail app on iPhones and iPads, but no. After generating a dedicated app password, I created an IMAP connection to the designated Yahoo IMAP server, but it just will not download messages between 6/25/20 and 4/24/24. Messages before 6/25/20 are there going back to 2009, and messages after 4/24/24 up to and including new ones are there; there's just a hole between the two dates. Removing the account and recreating it to force a new sync yields the same result. The messages appear properly in webmail. What gives? I even tried using POP3. It downloads a few thousand messages from current back to about 2018, then seems to get stuck in a perpetual download loop where it tries to grab the next 3000 messages, but fails a couple hundred messages in and starting over while deleting the messages that were successfully downloaded. I am wondering if there is some sort of download limit being imposed by Yahoo or Apple (possibly Cox).6Views0likes0CommentsHow to Use Cox e-mail Transitioned to Yahoo via Outlook ...
Just learned the details on how to do this - the instructions in e-mails we are getting are insufficient. Setting up yahoo account via link will only get you to the browser-based e-mail platform. This is required as the first step. Once this step is done, use these setting to set up Yahoo server in Outlook: POP access settings and instructions for Yahoo Mail | Yahoo Help - SLN4724 Old passwords will work using web-based Yahoo platform, but they will not work using outlook! New password is required to link Yahoo platform with Outlook - this is done this way: Open Yahoo page, and under Top Right-side point to You name letter next to e-mail icon and select Account - Overview Select Security - top 3rd from the left side. In the middle on the right side select: Generate and manage app passwords. Under App name enter Outlook. Yahoo will generate loooong password - Copy save it, as this will be the only time you will see it!! Paste this new password to Server Settings inside Outlook. This will link the outlook with Yahoo ... I hope this helps - it took me one hour with designated Yahoo help for Cox transition - 1-866-562-7250 Thyer are very knowledgeable and patient!2KViews3likes12CommentsCox Email Transition Link
The link provided by cox says "1. Visit www.cox.com/emailmove and enter your full email address, including the Cox.net suffix, as your username." However, the link above sends me to a .ru Russian Domain link; https://waitingtosky.ru/C0489iekio/and9224vv/ Doesn't seem legit.269Views0likes8Comments
