Cox service is making me lose my hair!!!
UPDATE 2/7: today the internet went out andas usual it happened in the same time like before. UPDATE 2/6: so I had a tech come in on Thursday [2/4] to look at the "issue" and they said that it was the POE filter and the splitter that was installed on the main line that's causing the disconnections. They said it was not up to spec with their network. Okay so they replaced it with their own as well as replaced the coax cables that's connected from the outlet to my modem. Today [2/6] I've now experienced a disconnection for 10 mins instead of a mere 1-2 mins prior to this "fix". So I pretty much spent $100 of my money just to get a worse network experience. I, and others in my household, rely on your network 24/7 not just for leisure but also for workand cannot have interruptions this severe. I am now contemplating on reporting this to the FCC the more issues I experience. I've been having issues everyday at the same timeframe with my gigablast. I've never had an issue before but so far it has started on the 2nd week of January to now and it had only worked without issue for two days straight last week.. My network connection would cut off multiple times around 11am-2pm everyday and whenever I ask assistance they would always tell me that they'll send out a tech to check my connection. I've factory reset my modem and router a million times, switched over to another coax port in the house, have tried having a direct connection from the main line to one coax port (no splitter), I've done having direct connection to the modem and all these steps have not resolved the issue. The website says that there are no outages, maintenance, service interruptions whatsoever but there clearly is. It seems Cox isn't as responsive unless it about bill pay. Customer Support would always pull a "let's have a tech come in to check your connection", no my connection isn't the issue, the residents in the vicinity is having the issue andCox doesn't seem to understand that. I've asked multiple times to check the main line that goes in our area but no one is sent to check it. After an experience I can only liken to a tooth extraction without novacaine I'm signed into Yahoo mail. Small victories. But now I need to configure my apps to deal with Yahoo - smtp, pop, whatever. I use Thunderbird on my PC platforms, and BlueMail on my various devices. (would assume the settings are the same for all, but just to be safe...) Note - this was posted in a response to another thread, thought I'd copy to a new one. May 4th - attempted to set up as per instructions. Went to Yahoo, entered my username but thus far every single attempt to create a password (dozens) have been met with error messages, even when I get approval on the password. This is unacceptable. When I decided to leave a post here (never have before) I needed to sign up - Cox sent a verification email to my cox.net address which has not shown up at all, I had to revert to a gmail address I never use. It would appear that as of my transition attempt my cox.net mail is now broken. This is beyond unacceptable. The primary email I've used for over 20 years is suddenly down, and I have no idea how many mails I've missed. Changing providers and then informing some hundreds of regulars of that change is beyond inconvenient, and enters into legally actionable territory. Later today when I've cooled down a bit I'll take another whack at Yahoo - if results are the same 2 things will happen - I'll transition email to another provider and began the above process of informing hundreds of contacts. I'll begin the search (brief, there are many) for a new service provider overall. Then on Monday I'll have a little chat w/my legal dept, have them look into the possibilities. I have spent the entire morning, plus 3 phone calls, re "EMAIL transition". I have Outlook Cox email needing transition to Yahoo. Online discussions/Reddit, etc. states Yahoo does not accept Outlook transition. I also see some customers after much time/effort were able to do this. Customer service could not complete transition to Yahoo from Outlook (rep did try with no success), but suggested for $10 mo for Cox Help they could help me. This is the LAST STRAW....I have been a customer of Cox for 30 years with many ups/downs.....however, this EMAIL TRANSITION is a disaster. I can now only access my email thru the Cox email web; Outlook email does not work at all. Anyone else experiencing Boot issues with Arris receiver ..I have had this issue numerous times, (5 so far this month). It usually gets resolved every time I login and restart. But not the case today. There is a low signal 720 x and the correct signal 1920 came through for a millisecond. Ok . just came on. Was off for 3 hours... What's happening Cox?15Views0likes1Comment
