Second Contour Receiver in Bedroom

Currently have Contour Receiver with Preferred DVR in our living room with mini-boxes in two bedrooms.  What benefit would I get if I replaced one of the mini-boxes with Contour Receiver?  Can I access full channel line up as is available on LR receiver?  Can I watch programs recorded on LR DVR?

mine is the opposite, preferred in br, mini in living room, both can save/watch + watch everything offered in the guide.

The short, simple answer would be yes and yes. Contour receivers have access to your full programming subscription and can access recordings on any of the other receivers.

wouldn't Carnival need the whole home dvr not preferred dvr to watch it in a different room?
