Worst internet provider EVER

Cox has absolutely the worst internet connectivity out of all providers. 20 outages in ONE month is unheard of. Almost every afternoon modem will suddenly lose connection and you can’t do anything about it. All you can do is:

  1. ask for a technician, they will come and change the cable and wiring, but your connection will still be bad
  2. Call their tech support number and go through 10 different automated steps before you can finally be put on hold to talk to one of their representatives at their call center, which is most likely not even located in the US. All they do is tell you how valued you are as their loyal customer and reset the modem for you. They can’t fix anything.

Overall decent customer service, but terrible internet service. I have never seen an internet provider so incompetent dealing with intermittent connection issues. They are constantly pulling technicians and other resources to our area with absolutely NO plan whatsoever. Hell, seven years living in here and they still don’t provide fiber optic. 

In any case, I am done dealing with cox and their incompetence. Switching to Frontier next week because it is clearly the better option here.

I'm so fed up as well.  Looking to change providers. I work remotely and have to use my phones hotshot to work.

I have had Cox cable since 1993, and their internet ever since they offered it. I maintain the cables and splitters in my home and do not have any issues at all. I cannot even remember the last time my internet was down.  That being said - 

What lights are on your modem when you lose Internet? What modem are you using? Have you tried replacing cable wires in your home? If it goes to a wall plate, try replacing the barrel connector in the wall plate.
