Spoofing Email Blocking Techniques

What are the procedures / protocols to be followed for blocking spoofing e-mails?  I am receiving spoofed e-mails with different addresses by perhaps changing only one or two letters in the name and then changing one letter in the domain name, i.e. jvno instead of juno.  I have Microsoft Outlook / Office 365, and I have started researching solutions through Microsoft, but I thought I would post this question to Cox Communications, also.  Thank you.
