Question about EMI, EMF, or any kind of interference
Cox is investigating issues in my network and I don't think they're really getting anywhere. Apparently, whatever is going on is really REALLY hard to detect.
I've ensured all my equipment is working properly.
My question is what type of interference can be effecting me in any way (mostly random ping spikes and fluctuating upload soeeds), what can cause it? And I mean anything. I've got to dig deep to find the issue.
Sidenote: my "other" channel, channel 159, always has a small amount of uncorrectables. I believe that's ofdm but im not sure

Any electronic device can cause EMI: infrared light, microwave, TV, radio, cellphone...any electronic transmission system. Although coax is shielded, EMI can enter through splitters, connectors, metal wall plates.
